I have a windows machine and it is difficult to set up ssh so now I am using ttyd for ad hoc analysis. I wonder what is the main difference between Cloud station and ttyd. I can see the cloud station can creat snapshot files for future input while ttyd can not. Is there any other difference you would like to address? Woud you think ttyd can be an alternative for cloud station?
Cloud workstation is basically a sleeper worker that you can control the timeout + snapshot feature. It's a very early design and adhere to DNAnexus native structure.
ttyd is a newer app. IMO, I found this easier to user. TTYD has main feature on built-in dxfuse, so you can access file in the project directly without explicitly download them and also run as webapp, so you don't need to install dx-toolkit in terminal.
Unless you want snapshot or the customized timeout, I would recommend ttyd. The dxfuse is very handy. However, if you need those features, then you would use cloud workstation.
DNAnexus has been considering the unified interactive worker, but I don't think it's settled at this moment.
