Availability of CHIP calls

Zachary Fuller

Hello,
I'm trying to access the CHIP calls from this publication: PMC10273159. I have contacted the corresponding author on the paper and they said they submitted these data >18 months ago and were told these would be included in the Nov 2024 release. The returned dataset is:
Application ID: 43397

Upload IDs: 3542, 3543, 3544, 3560, 3577

Are these data available and how can we access these in the RAP?

    Dear Zachary,

Thanks for your post on the UK Biobank Community Forum.

We have received returned data for application 43397 but it not yet available for other researchers to access. When returned data for application 43397 is available it will be listed here in the Returns Catalogue on Showcase:

    https://biobank.ctsu.ox.ac.uk/crystal/docs.cgi?id=1

    https://biobank.ctsu.ox.ac.uk/crystal/app.cgi?id=43397

Please note, it is currently not possible for any returned datasets to be accessed on the UKB-RAP. We are developing a system which will enable researchers to request returns and access them in UKB-RAP. We will notify all researchers when this is ready and we expect to make this announcement in due course.

    Kind regards,

    Matt

Is there a time frame for when i) this returned data is available for other researchers to access and ii) when returned data in general will be available? This is valuable data that was returned >18 months ago and seems like wasted effort and resources to repeat the same pipeline in UKB-RAP if it has already been generated and returned

Matt H Hi, I'm wondering if I can follow up and please get a response for when we should expect this dataset to be available (and returned data more generally)?

    Dear Zachary,

    Apologies for my delayed response.

Recently UK Biobank has prioritised supporting researchers transitioning to the UKB-RAP through providing researcher training, financial support schemes, and similar activities.

We are now turning our attention to the new mechanism through which we can make returns available to access within the UKB-RAP. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an estimate of when this returned data will be made available. We will provide the researcher community with an update in due course.

    Kind regards,

    Matt

    Dear Zachary,

As a further update, we do now have a planned release of Clonal haematopoesis data scheduled for late 2025.

Further information on upcoming data releases can be found here:

    Kind regards,

    Matt H ,

    Hi Matt,

I see from the november update that the CHIP data should now be available. However using p30105 in table exporter triggers an error for me. Is this data not yet available or am I overseeing some simple action I need to undertake?

    Hi Thijs,

    Thanks for your post.

The V20 release is scheduled to take place at the end of November 2025.

The CHIP data will be available on the UKB-RAP once the V20 release has occurred and you will then be able to access this data by updating the dispensed data on your UKB-RAP project:

    https://dnanexus.gitbook.io/uk-biobank-rap/getting-started/data-structure/updating-dispensed-data

     Kind regards,

    Matt
