Locating genetic relatedness file

Dear UK Biobank community,

I have been attempting to locate the file ukb_rel.dat to extract kinship coefficient for UKB participants. I note a previous post on the forum advised that this should be available under Bulk → Genotype Results → Genotype Calls - unfortunately it does not seem to be located there. Has this been moved elsewhere/ is it no longer available?

NB the project was dispensed relatively recently and the remaining genotype data appears in Bulk folder. 

 

I would appreciate your advice!

    It's still there for me: /Bulk/Genotype Results/Genotype calls/ukb_rel.dat

    Here are some things to check if you can't see it:

    • Make sure you have the array genotyping data dispensed to your project. If you only have the sequencing data, it may not dispense the relatedness file.
    • If you are viewing the “Genotype calls” directory in the Manage section of the project in your web browser, there are enough files there that it splits them into multiple pages. Look in the bottom right corner of the pane with the files for numbers to navigate between pages - ukb_rel.dat is on page 2.
    • If you have the dx toolkit command-line tools, try  dx ls /Bulk/Genotype\ Results/Genotype\ calls/ukb_rel.dat and see if it shows up that way. If you're using a tool like RStudio that mounts the /mnt/project filesystem, you can also look for the file at /mnt/project/Bulk/Genotype\ Results/Genotype\ calls/ukb_rel.dat
