Hi, I was looking around the forum but couldn't find a recent update on this.
Does anyone know what the current procedure is for getting returned datasets on the UKB-RAP?
For my project, I need to access the individual-level data from Return 3094. I haven't been able to find a way to get this data added to my project, as it seems the old basket system is no longer used and I don't see a clear option for it within the RAP interface itself.
I would appreciate any guidance on the correct steps to take, or any information on timelines for when these datasets might be more easily accessible on the platform.

Thanks for your question! Recently, UK Biobank has been focusing on helping researchers transition to using the Research Analysis Platform (RAP), including offering training, financial support, and other helpful resources.
We're now shifting our attention to the next step, developing a mechanism to make data returns accessible within the RAP. We'll be sharing an update with the research community on this soon, so stay tuned!

Thank you for contacting us with a question regarding access to a return dataset.
Recently UK Biobank has prioritised supporting researchers transitioning to the RAP though providing researcher training, financial support schemes, and similar activities. We are now turning our attention to the new mechanism through which we can make returns available to access within the RAP and will provide the researcher community with an update in due course.

At the moment we are unable to provide an exact timeline but we do expect the new returns data system to be made available to the research community within the next few months.

At this moment, could you please confirm whether it is currently possible to access and download Returned Datasets for analysis outside RAP? I understand that individual-level UKB data must be analysed within RAP, but before Returned Datasets become natively available on RAP, is there any interim pathway or exception (e.g., via the Returned Datasets Catalogue with approved bridging files or aggregate-level extracts) to use these data?

Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately it will not be possible to access returns data until it is made available on the UKB-RAP as we no longer allow this data to be downloaded or accessed via a bridging file.

The process that will enable access to returned datasets on the UKB-RAP is still being developed.
We are working diligently to finalise this process but currently we do not yet have a date for when this will be active. An announcement will be made in due course once we have a further update to share.
