New resources for using code repositories with UK Biobank Pinned Featured
We’re pleased to announce a new set of resources to support researchers using code repositories such as GitHub when working with UK Biobank data. These tools and guidance are designed to help you collaborate effectively, maintain compliance, and get the most out of your research.
Code Repository Training Module
A new training module is now available in AMS. It covers:
- Version control fundamentals
- Repository management
- Best practices for collaborative coding
This module is optional until 31 March 2026, after which it will become mandatory for all researchers.
Updated guidance
We’ve published new documentation to help you:
- Share code responsibly
- Collaborate with fellow researchers
- Contribute to an inclusive and productive research ecosystem

To support compliance, we’ve launched the Git Audit Tool. It helps you:
