Is the column 'Date of attending assessment centre | Instance 0' referring to the biological sample collection date? I have downloaded the proteomic and metabolomic data and now I wish to perform various types of survival analysis. Can I confirm that 'Date of attending assessment centre | Instance 0' represents the date when blood samples were collected for metabolomics, proteomics, and lab assays?
Blood samples were collected at each visit. Most participants have only attended the baseline (instance 0), and will only have instance 0 metabolomic results. Approximately 17k participants also attended a repeat visit in 2012-3 (instance 1), and may have metabolomic results for instance 1 too (or occasionally instead).
Proteomics at present has some data from instances 0, 2 and 3.
Blood count at present has some data from instances 0, 1 and 2.
Field 21842 (instances 0 to 3) might also be of interest, as it gives both date and time of sample collection.
(In general, the date in field 21842 should match the date of attending assessment centre, though a few anomalous cases might be present, usually as a result of data entry errors).

This can be seen for example in showcase field 23475 Acetate, https://biobank.ndph.ox.ac.uk/showcase/field.cgi?id=23475, and also in the cohort browser where Acetate | Instance 1 is not all Null.
We do not currently have any metabolomics data for the blood samples taken at imaging visits (instance 2 or 3).
'Date of attending assessment centre | Instance 0' should be the correct date for the results in Instance 0 columns.

Thank you Rachael, for this very detailed answer!
