Determining age at assessment centre as a decimal
Hi,
How can I go about determining a participant's age at the time they attended the assessment centre as a decimal as opposed to an integer (i.e 35.6 as opposed to 35)? Data field 21003 provides the integer version, but as far as I can see, there is no age field with months and years. A paper I am trying to recreate claims to have used data field 53 (date of attending assessment centre) to create an approximate age as a decimal (alongside the date and month of birth fields), but this data field is missing from my data (presumably because it contains the date down to the day, and has been censored to prevent identification).
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Acer,
Field 53 is not restricted and is available to all Tier 1 and above projects on the RAP. In the cohort browser, it is available under Assessment Centre/Recruitment/Reception. For more information on how to use the tabular data within the RAP, see Accessing Phenotypic Data as a File and Using Spark to Analyze Tabular Data. We also have a series of introductory notebooks giving examples of accessing data.
Hope this helps!
Field 33 is restricted, but you should have its Related Fields, 52 and 34, which are in Category 100094 Baseline characteristics, giving Year and Month of birth.
