Censoring date of cancer registry data

Hi all,

I am trying to identify the censoring date for patients with a specific diagnosis in the cancer registry data.

From the “Data providers and dates of data availability” page I understood that this is origin specific(Wales vs Scotland vs England).

However the field 40021 “Cancer record origin” bundles together England and Wales making it difficult to assign the correct censoring date(31 May 2023 for England and 2016 for Wales).

Is there a way around this issue?

    Hi Francesco,

    many of the participants with a Cancer record origin in Wales will be participants who live in Wales, and who therefore attended their baseline i0 UKB visit in Wales.   See field 54, where Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham are in Wales.   At baseline, all participants attended a centre within 30 miles of their home address.   (Note that this is not true for the imaging visits i2 and i3 where participants may have travelled much further.)

    This could be incorrect if participants have moved house.   I do not know whether it might also be incorrect for rare cancer types that could have specialist centres in a different country.
