What happens after I pay UK Biobank access fees?

Once you've paid your UK Biobank access fee, we'll confirm receipt of your payment and complete the remaining steps before providing access to your data.

Please allow up to 10 working days for your payment to clear into our bank account.

What happens next?

1. Payment confirmation: Our Finance team will allocate your payment once it has cleared.
2. Agreement approval: Once we've allocated your payment and received your correctly signed Material Transfer Agreement (MTA), we'll send the agreement to our Legal Counsel for countersignature.
3. Next steps: Once the MTA has been fully signed, we'll contact you through the Access Management System (AMS) with the next steps for accessing your data.

How can I help speed up payment confirmation?

If you have a remittance advice, please email it to creditcontrol@ukbiobank.ac.uk to help our Finance team identify and allocate your payment.

How do I check the status of my application?

You can track the progress of your application in AMS:

1. Log in to AMS.
2. Go to your Applications list.
3. Check the Tracking status column for the latest update on your application.
