Do I need to delete UK Biobank data downloaded for a project that has ended?

Yes. Under the terms of your Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) with UK Biobank, you must delete all downloaded UK Biobank data when your project ends.

When a project reaches its scheduled end date, we remind project leads to:

• Delete all UK Biobank data downloaded as part of the project.
• Confirm to UK Biobank that the data have been deleted.

What happens if the data have not been deleted?

If we have not received confirmation that the data have been deleted, we will contact the relevant institutional lead to ensure the deletion requirements are met.
