How to set up Microsoft Authenticator without scanning a QR code

Step 1

Select ‘Still having trouble? Enter the account details manually’

When you select this, you will see an Account Name and Secret combination appear.

Step 2

Open your Microsoft Authenticator app. Select the + icon on the top right.

Step 3

Select “Other (Google, Facebook, etc.), then ‘Enter code manually’. Here, you will enter your AMS username, followed by the Secret combination. 

Step 4

Once you have entered these details and clicked finish, you will see your AMS username on the Microsoft Authenticator app (if you have other accounts registered to this app, scroll to the bottom to see your latest addition). 

Step 5

On the AMS page, enter the 6 digit code (this code refreshes every 30 seconds), then click ‘Verify’ to log in to AMS.
