I wonder what is the correct date of UK biobank blood sample collection that were analyzed by WGS? The platform has multiple "Date of attending..." not sure which to use to align dates from ICD codes correctly to the date of sample that was sequenced
We plan to make this available as an additional data field at the next showcase release, which is likely to be in Spring 2024. In the meantime, for the vast majority of participants the sample used was from their baseline visit (field 53 instance 0).
If you need to be sure in the meantime, you could select only those participants who only have a baseline visit (approximately 400000 participants).
The date in Field 53 (date of visit) is the most reliable. The other sample-related dates have a few issues, some related to an error in the automation in the lab and some related to manual entry errors. Where there are discrepancies, they are nearly always within a month of each other.
