Is it possible to define a cohort using Cohort Browser that has a set of inpatient ICD9/ICD10 OR death ICD9/ICD10 codes? So far I am only able to define a cohort with a set of inpatient ICD9/ICD10 codes WITH death ICD9/ICD10 codes.
it is possible, depending on what exact fields do you want to use. There are similarly-named fields at different levels. At the participant level there is summary diagnosis (ever) and summary cause of death (ever). At the hospitalization level there is detailed diagnosis (per-hospitalization), and at the death cause record there is detailed cause (per-death).

Hello,
it is possible, depending on what exact fields do you want to use. There are similarly-named fields at different levels. At the participant level there is summary diagnosis (ever) and summary cause of death (ever). At the hospitalization level there is detailed diagnosis (per-hospitalization), and at the death cause record there is detailed cause (per-death).
Here are two examples that works for me.
Thank you! Another follow up question- Can you combine "AND" and "OR" statements for a cohort? For example if I want the following filters-
Inpatient ICD10 = XYZ OR ICD9 = XYZ OR DEATH ICD10 = XY AND Left ventricular Ejection fraction > 50
Every time I try to alter one OR statement to AND it changes all of them to AND.
