Adding collaborators to my application - Approved UK Biobank researchers and new invitations

  • Updated

When submitting an application, or if you already have a project underway, you can add additional researchers to collaborate.

In the collaborators tab of your application or project, you will see the following screen:

Here you can add either existing approved researchers, or invite new unregistered researchers to collaborate.

  1. Select either "Add another collaborator at your institute" or "Add collaborators at another institute"
  2. Enter the institute specific email address of the collaborator you wish to add.
  3. AMS will run checks in our system to determine whether the email address you have entered is registered already.
  4. If so, and the researcher you have added is already an approved UK Biobank researcher, you will get a confirmation that the researcher has been added with "Approved" underneath their email address.
  5. If the institute email address is not recognised, a pop up will appear:

  6. Click "OK" to send an invitation for a registration, where the new researcher will be invited to complete a registration form, and once approved, added to the application/project as an existing researcher with the "Approved" status.
  7. Until the researcher has completed a registration and it has been approved, it will be visible on your application/project with "Pending Invitation":

Important Note: Invitation links are for new unregistered researchers. The invitation link lasts 24 hours, after which point you can resend the link to the same email address. If the researcher has an existing profile on AMS but the institute you are attempting to add to your application/project is not listed on their profile, they will need to add this to their existing profile rather than following the new invitation link. Following approval of this addition, you can then add this researcher to your project.
