I have downloaded data from UK Biobank as part of a project that has since concluded – do I need to delete these data?

Yes – it is a key requirement of the Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) that you have with UK Biobank that all downloaded data must be deleted after a project concludes. 

Project leads are reminded when their project comes to its scheduled end to delete any UK Biobank data that they hold, and to confirm to us that this has been done. 

In cases where this has not happened, institutional leads will be asked to ensure that compliance with this data deletion requirement is implemented.
